I've broken Windows Media Player (No, it can't be fixed.) So, since I like listening to music, I need to find another media player to use. I would rather avoid iTunes, because I find it to be a pain in the ass. Same with Zune. I know of a few free, open source media players, such as Songbird, but that can be a bit slow and buggy, and it doesn't do videos. All the rest that I know of are incredibly basic, shitty media players for Linux. I might be willing to spend some money to get a good media player, if it comes to that. Advice?

So, I was supposed to be at the college at 10:30 today, to meet with my group and work on our final presentation. I forgot to set my alarm though, and I woke up at 10:15. So I was late. But I was still only the second person to arrive (I'm getting bored, thus the news post). Everyone else was even later, and I'm still waiting. Also, as I look at the sweater I chose last night, I realize what a poor choice it was. It's extremely baggy, and the pattern is stupid. Oh well.

And apparently, there's a SECOND alarm system lurking there on my car, because when I tried to unlock it this morning, it went off and wouldn't let me turn on the car until I did something to turn it off. I was just hitting random buttons, so I don't know what did it.

I'm eating a turkey sandwich that is totally not worth the five dollars I paid for it.

I hope that we don't present today. I don't think that we're ready for it.

Anyway, I haven't made a real post in some time, so I think I will. This week is finals week for me. Tomorrow I have to present a Powerpoint to my class, and we were told to dress nice. I'm wearing a wooley sweater that I really don't know how to describe, some light tan slacks, and dress shoes. I think it all looks okay, but I can't help feeling ridiculous in these clothes. Probably because I never wear anything but jeans, a t-shirt, and the same big green jacket every day. Whatever.

Also, I have been making progress on my car. I got it a few weeks ago as a gift, and it came with all sorts of retarded stuff. So far I've replaced the back tires, disabled the STUPID alarm system, and peeled the tinting off the windows. The only trouble is that the tinting left this layer of sticky stuff on my windows. Acetone works okay to get rid of it, but it's really cold here now, and because acetone evaporates so fast it makes my fingers painfully cold whenever I get it on them, which is unavoidable. So I'm waiting for a good chance to get at those windows when the cold won't make my fingers fall off. Maybe once the break starts up, I'll get a heater in the garage and do it in there. I just hope I don't die from the acetone fumes.

You know those days that completely suck because absolutely nothing goes right? Well, today was the exact opposite of that for me.

I got my DRIVER'S LICENSE!!!!!!! It took forever and a lot of running around to get different documents to verify me identity. I took my written last Saturday, which I passed with flying colors. The lady at the DOL actually remembered me a week later as "the genius," how cool is that? I got an 84% on my drive test, but the main thing is that I passed. I got my paper driver's license, and in a few weeks my shiny plastic one with an RFID chip (it's enhanced!) will come in the mail.
I finally got a CELL PHONE!!! It's been in the works for a long time as well. I used to have a phone a few years ago, but we deactivated the line for various reasons. Mainly because it was too damn expensive. But because of that deactivated line sitting there for years, I was eligible for a free upgrade. I went to the Sprint store yesterday, and today my phone got here in the mail. It's pretty neat, it's got a full keyboard that slides out sideways. I like it.
I got new plates for my car, because it now officially belongs to us (my dad :P) and as soon as we call it in to the insurance company I'll be able to drive it around. I'm excited.
Finally, I burned my bridges with the high school today. I still have to go back and get a form signed every quarter, but there's no other hoops to jump through. I'm getting my diploma when I get my AS degree, through the college. Running start is awesome.

I'm sorry to make such a braggy post, but I don't have such amazing days very often, and I just wanted to.

Gay fish yo

I was looking for my driver's ed certificate so that I could go take my driver's test, and I found all sorts of interesting things while digging through the crap in my closet. I found several old poems that I wrote for an English class. They were fun to read, and they actually weren't that bad. I might post one or two later if I feel like it. I also found a sketchpad that someone gave me for Christmas long ago. I must not have been interested in it at the time, so it got buried and forgotten. But now that I have discovered that I enjoy drawing, I shall be using it. I'll put some sketches up on my userpage later. It's won't be anything worth scouting, but I'll put it up just in case it ever happens to get some feedback.

I never did find that certificate, though. Oh well.

Yup, when I get home from school today, my very first car will be waiting for me on the driveway. I'm so fucking excited! I don't even have to pay for it, because some friends of my parents' needed are giving it to us because they are either moving away or just don't need it anymore, I forget. I don't even know anything about it yet, besides that it's a Honda (score). It should be in good condition, too, the owner was an auto parts dealer. But, I bet it will have a lot of miles on it, and I'll grow to hate it dearly. But at least it's free. I'll update this later with pics and more details.

Also, because I bought this computer during June, I get a free upgrade to Windows 7. It's on its way in the mail and should be here within a few days. I can't wait to get rid of this goddamn Vista. I'll post about it when I get it.

UPDATE TIME

Well, it looks like it's pretty shitty. It's a Honda Civic from the 90's, but it has a little over 177K miles on it. There's a bunch of retarded alarms that I need to disable. I can't open the door without two different alarms going off. The paint is purple and badly oxidized. Needless to say, it needs a new coat. It also has a bunch of aftermarket stuff on it, like the exhaust pipe, the intake, the dials, and there's a crossbar in the engine compartment for some reason. It has a sunroof. The windows are tinted, but the tinting is peeling off and I want to get it removed. The suspension and the steering are creaky. The engine's okay, it's a two liter and it runs reasonably well. And it's better than having to buy one with my own money.

Now with a picture. Looking at it, I just realized that it's an Accord, not a Civic.
